“Reviving a legendary wineland”
A wine festival dedicated to the rebirth of a historic vineyard 29 September - 1 October 2023 at Navarino Agora.
The Captain Vassilis & Carmen Konstantakopoulos Foundation invites you to the Messinia Terroirs Wine Festival, which will be hosted at Navarino Agora from 29 September to 1 October.
The festival is the inaugural event of the Messinia Terroirs programme, and will include presentations of Messinia wine producers and their wines, tasting events, masterclasses for professionals and wine lovers, special seminars in English for foreign visitors, wine painting programmes for young and old, film screening in an open cinema, as well as a music programme of classical and contemporary repertoire.
All the shops, restaurants and delicatessen of the Navarino Agora will participate with special offers, special menus and local delicacies, which will perfectly accompany the producers' wines, completing the tasting, gastronomic and cultural experience of the Messinia Terroirs Wine Festival.
The Messinia Terroirs programme is an initiative of the Captain Vassilis & Carmen Konstantakopoulos Foundation, which was established in 2011 with the aim of making Messinia a model of sustainable rural development through the support and promotion of innovative creative actions.
Kai's main objective is to give a new impetus to the wine industry of Messinia, to revive the glory of the past, and to highlight not only the fascinating diversity and uniqueness of the Messinian vineyard but also the multi-dimensional character of the place.
The charismatic terroirs of the region with its special microclimate that favours the production of excellent wines, the rich gastronomic tradition and the long-standing historical and cultural heritage in an environment of rare natural beauty, create the conditions for Messinia to be reborn as a wine-producing region with a recognisable identity and to establish itself as a wine tourism destination of international standards.
