On September 8, 2023 was held the 112th edition of the Tastevinage at the Château du Clos de Vougeot. On this occasion, a hundred jurors tasters, professionals of the sector met to taste no less than 400 wines of Burgundy and select the most representative wines of their appellations and vintages. Of these wines, 132 were selected to receive the Tastevinage seal.

This Autumn session was sponsored by William Wouters, Best Sommelier of Belgium 1992, President of the Guild of Sommeliers of Belgium, President for Europe of ASI since 2020 (Association de Sommellerie Internationale) and organizer of the World Sommelier Championships.

THE RESULTS OF THE 112TH EDITION OF TASTEVINAGE

Winegrowers, sommeliers, restaurateurs, merchants, buyers, journalists and enlightened amateurs met in the Grand Cellier of Château du Clos de Vougeot, a mecca of viticulture and Burgundy heritage, to taste the 400 Burgundy wines presented during this edition. Each wine is tasted anonymously in order to preserve the impartiality of the tasters. Of all the wines presented, only 132 receive the Tastevinage seal, the equivalent of 33% of the wines presented to the jury.

In total, the following were rewarded:

  •  46 regional appellations
  •  50 village appellations
  •  36 appellations in Premier Cru and Grand Cru

This result serves the mission of the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin: to discover and promote the great wines of Burgundy, whatever their level of appellation.

THE TASTEVINAGE: LABEL FOR THE SELECTION OF WINES OF GREATER BURGUNDY WINE SINCE 1950 Created in 1950

by the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin, the TASTEVINAGE is a label that selects the most representative wines of the great Burgundy wine, from Chablis to Beaujolais crus.

Composed of a jury of experts in the wine sector: winegrowers, merchants, representatives of cooperative cellars, brokers, sommeliers, oenologists, restaurateurs, buyers, distributors, journalists and influencers, the Tastevinage consists of a meticulous examination where each wine is tasted anonymously in order to preserve the impartiality of tasters.

At the end of this selection, the seal of TASTEVINAGE is awarded to the wines that best define the character of their appellations and vintages, the guarantee of authenticity and pleasure for the consumer.
