On Sunday (09.10.2022) the three-day events of the 2nd Harvest Festival, organised by the Municipality of Naoussa, in cooperation with the Association of Naoussa Wine Producers and cultural associations, were successfully completed.
Cultural events, serenades in the neighbourhoods, artistic activities in the city and in the wineries that can be visited, guided tours and wine tastings composed this year again the "mosaic" of the Festival, which was embraced by residents and visitors for the second consecutive year.
The re-enactment of the traditional harvest took place on Sunday afternoon at the Kir-Yianni Estate in Giannakochori, by the Lyceum of Hellenic Women of Naoussa, with the participation of the choir of the Association.
The event of the re-enactment of the harvest was attended by the Deputy Minister of Finance, Tax Policy and Public Property, Apostolos Vesyropoulos, the MP of Imathia of SYRIZA, Angelos Tolkas, the Mayor of Naoussa, Nikolas Karanikolas, the Deputy Mayors George Triantafyllou, Dora Baltatzidou, Vassilis Tzouvaras, the President of the Local Community of Naoussa Kostas Chatzistyllis, municipal councillors, representatives of institutions, associations and numerous visitors.
The cultural associations that participated in the musical evenings of the three-day festival and in the events with wine and harvest as their main theme were: the Traditional Music section of the Conservatory of the Holy Metropolis, the dance section of the Naoussa Environmental Culture and Culture Group "The Arapitsa", the choir of the Music Society "Naoussa Conservatory" that sang serenades about wine in the city's neighborhoods, the orchestra of the "Aristotle" Conservatory, the adult contemporary dance section of the Parents and Guardians Association of the Naoussa Municipal Conservatory "Estia Muses" and the Lyceum of Greek Women of Naoussa.
In the framework of the Festival, apart from the cultural music evenings, the action for young children entitled "We press grapes and paint the harvest", an offer of the Association of Vine Growers and Winemakers of Naoussa, took place in the municipal park of Naoussa, as well as a parallel artistic action by the children's painting department of the Art Workshops of the Municipality of Naoussa.
During the three-day festival the visitors had the opportunity to visit beautiful wineries and vineyards of the region and to taste the famous wine variety Xinomavro and vintage wines of Naoussa wine producers.
The wineries that participated in the guided tours are the Winery "VAENI", the Winery "DALAMARA", the Winery "ARGATIA", the Estate "KIR-YANNI", the Estate "FOUNTI" and the Cellar "MELIZANI".
