Greek Wine Day 2025 – Discovering the Greek Wines.

Greek Wine Day has been established as an institution not only for Florence but also for all of Italy.

On November 1st, for the fourth time in Florence, at the Albani Hotel, Via Fiume 12A, a major celebration will take place: the largest Greek wine tasting ever organized in Italy. Forty-five wineries from every corner of Greece will participate (26 of them with a physical presence).

New perspectives and tasting experiences

The event offers a unique opportunity for professionals and wine lovers who wish to explore a wine heritage that is still, to a large extent, unknown in Italy. Beyond tastings, participants will be able to converse with producers and attend informative talks about Greece’s winemaking regions and traditions.

Greek Wine Day, born from an idea by wine enthusiast Haris Papandreou, who has lived in Florence for forty years, was officially established in 2025 as a Non-Profit Civic Company, with the sole purpose of promoting Greek wine in European markets—starting with Italy and later extending to other countries—with the long-term goal of establishing a World Day for Greek Wine.

As every year, the event is organized with the invaluable contribution of the FISAR Florence School of Sommeliers (Federazione Italiana Sommelier Albergatori Ristoratori).

The event will be attended by representatives of major wine import companies, Italian Master of Wine Gabriele Gorelli, well-known journalists, managers of prestigious Tuscan restaurants, and other key figures of the wine community.

As always, the event is held under the auspices of the Honorary Consulate of Greece in Florence.
