This year is the 10th year that the top red wines of our country are presented alongside other great wines of the international vineyard in the exhibition that is rightly called "Great Red Wines". The exhibition will take place on Saturday 7 December at the King George Hotel in Syntagma Square.
22 Greek and 27 foreign wineries are participating in this year's "Big Red Wines" with a total of 150 wines, often hard to find and certainly of excellent quality. In addition, the exhibition hosts Crete as the Honoured Region, and is accompanied by "masterclass" tastings with wine experts as speakers. For more information, online ticketing and booking for the Extra Tastings, visit www.fineredwines.gr.
ENTRY POLICY
Due to the rarity and high cost of many of the wines on show, about half require payment for a 50ml tasting (served in a Riedel* crystal glass). Participation is based on coupons, the number of which is set by each exhibitor for each wine label (10 coupons are included in the entrance fee). Generally, Greek wines from current market vintages are available for free.
The entrance fee is €50, which includes ten €3 coupons (i.e., a €20 entry ticket and €30 worth of coupons). Visitors can purchase extra coupons for additional tastings at the event’s reception. Tickets purchased through this platform do not incur additional electronic processing fees.
Master classes will complement the event for an additional fee. Tickets for these are limited to 14 participants.
*Each glass requires a €10 deposit, refunded upon return. (Please bring €10 in cash, as card payments are not acceptable for this transaction).
