Consorzio Tutela Valcalepio, together with Bergamo’s Camera di Commercio, presents the event EVVIVA VALCALEPIO.

On 5-6-7 July, the Cittadella Viscontea of Bergamo Alta will host the event, EVVIVA VALCALEPIO, 3 days to discover the wines of Valcalepo DOC and their matches with local gastronomic specialties, in a party’s atmosphere.

Valcalepio is a long hilly band in the province of Bergamo which extends for approximately 70 km between the Adda and Oglio rivers, unique from a landscape point of view. In this area rich in history and culture, ancient abbeys and castles, the wines of the homonymous denomination: Valcalepio DOC, are produced.

These wines come in four different typologies:

- Valcalepio Bianco DOC, from Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris grapes

- Valcalepio Rosso DOC, Bordeaux blend from Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes

- Valcalepio Rosso Riserva DOC, Bordeaux blend from Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes with minimum aging of 3 years.

- Valcalepio Moscato Passito DOC, from Moscato di Scanzo grapes.

Considering that food and wine represent the second reason for which people travel, what better option to make these interesting wines known to everyone than a dedicated event in the evocative setting of the Città Alta of Bergamo Visit Bergamo.

It is also a way to create a synergy between producers, restaurateurs and tourist operators that can last over time with the creation and proposal of dedicated touristic itineraries that involve all the cultural, artistic and food and wine aspects of the area.

Local restaurants will be involved both by inviting them to propose dedicated food and wine tours and as the venue for the 4 Wine Labs for in-depth analysis of the different types of wines produced: Bianco DOC, Rosso DOC, Rosso Riserva DOC and Passito DOC.

A great opportunity for people from all over the world to discover Bergamo and all it offer in terms of Art, History, Culture and, last but not least, Food & Wine.
