Allwinestories, the exclusive communications sponsor of Greek Wine Day 2025, presents the " Estate Chrysochoou" winery.
Just four kilometers outside Naoussa, the historic "city of wine and vines," lies the Stranza region. There, on the southeastern slopes of Vermio, at an altitude of 250 meters, in the heart of the OPAP NAOUSA zone, lie the vineyards and winery of the Chrysochoou Estate, where wine is produced with care, passion, and love for its loyal friends.
The winery, beyond its strictly "wine" character, is also a destination for those who want to learn about the secrets of wine up close. Visitors can take a tour of the production and bottling areas, see the cellars and the museum with collectibles of viticultural and oenological interest, and enjoy tastings in specially designed rooms.

A story that began in 1948
- In 1948, the Chrysochoou family began producing and bottling wine, ouzo, brandy, liqueurs, and vermouth.
- In 1977, Keimis Chrysochoou and Betty laid the foundations for what we now know as Estate Chrysochoou.
- In 1978, a 100-acre plot of land was selected and cultivated in Stranza, Naoussa, with an exclusive focus on wine.
- In 1994, the first small winery with modern equipment was created.
- In 1998, the first expansion took place, adding a tasting room, new production and aging areas, and a small museum.
- In 2004, another 80 acres were cultivated in the Gastra Naoussa area.
- In 2007, a new wing was completed with a room for aging, displaying, and promoting wines.

The Chrysochοou family
The tradition continues with two of the family's three children:
- Nana, a graduate of the School of Accounting and the School of Viticulture and Oenology in Italy.
- Yiannis, who is actively involved in various areas of the estaτε
- Production

Today, the Estate Chrysochoou has 180 acres of privately owned vineyards, where white and red varieties are cultivated.
The renowned Xinomavro Naoussa (PDO since 1971) stands out, from which white wine is also produced using the Blanc de Noir method. At the same time, the French varieties Merlot, Syrah, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc are also cultivated, as well as the old local white variety Priknadi, from which the distinctive Preknariko is produced.
Annual production reaches 350,000 bottles, with a variety of white, red, and rosé wines.

Awards and recognition
The winery is built in traditional Macedonian style, with modern production, aging, and bottling technology. The quality of the wines has been recognized internationally, with significant distinctions in competitions in Greece and abroad (Germany, Italy, England, Poland).

With dozens of awards from events such as the Decanter World Wine Awards, the International Wine & Spirit Competition, Prowein, and the Thessaloniki International Wine Competition, Chrysochou Winery has earned its place among the top names in Greek wine.
